I don't know how health works exactly but I suspect it's a one-hit-kill sort of thing. It only takes one strong enough injury to die and smaller ones...
You should check out BluetoothBoy's Console Mod, I believe it allows you to spawn in certain objects and place them in the world, or delete others.
