Hello! I dont really know where to start seeing as this place is quiet these days, my name is Xentia. I was here regularly for a little while about a decade ago. It seems ive missed a lot! Im a little saddened that work on Zerahypt has halted. I dont know the exact reason, most dont from what ive seen, but hopefully Syrsa is happy and healthy out there chugging away at their lore. Ive been playing the most recent Zerahypt release and its put the nostalgia goggle on me and glued them there. If theres still a discord for it available somewhere I would love an invite to it! thanks much in advance.
Hey hey! Yeah, it's mostly just me hanging around keeping half an eye on things these days. From what I can tell, Unity(?) updated to a new major version (5 I think) which would have been great had the project correctly transferred to the new version. I think there were other smaller issues with version 4, but the failure of 5 to correctly import the project was the proverbial straw that broke the camel's back. Hopefully one day Syrsa will either remake Zerahypt in the new version or with a better engine, make a new similar project, or someone from the community picks up where it was left off It's been a while since I've booted it up tho, I probably should
There are a couple discords, but I don't have access to invites. One is "unofficial" nowadays, and one is still under Syrsa. I don't remember why, but there was a bit of a split a few years ago where Syrsa didn't like the unofficial server's moderation and left, but the community there more or less stuck together and the official server is a bit more selective now
Shame, ive used unity for awhile to do things for vr chat, ive struggled through unitys recent changes myself so i know how it goes. Unity really is one of the most painful things to work with. I really miss the heyday for this site and Zerahypt as a whole. A really niche community. Im still surprised Magii keeps this place up im no hosting wiz so i dont know the details but it shows either crazy dedication or its just so simple to keep up its no issue. If you have a link to the unofficial one ill take it if possible, i assume theres no way into the official one without being vetted pretty intensely.
I did end up finding a link to the unofficial server. Idk how they'd feel about me just posting it for all to see so I DM-ed it to you. And yeah I imagine it's not that expensive to keep up considering the low traffic, and honestly depending on the price I could probably keep it up and running if it ever came to it. I like little corners of niche internet history so I'd hold onto this for posterity's sake if nothing else
