    As some of you know, I'm working on a multiplayer mod.
    I decided to make a thread to show the progress of it.
    So now people don't have to ask me personally for information.

    Currently I'm just implementing free roam where you can see other people and interact with them.
    So I haven't really decided what the first gamemode / minigame I will be making is.

    Is there a way around the 'things are only made for one piri' or will that be a thing that will always plague the multiplayer mods?

    It is a difficult matter, but the workaround is replacing those scripts with custom ones.

    Can you make your own private server so that you could, in theory, play with someone in the room with you or elsewhere?

    Yeah, you'll have to port forward if you're on a different network though.

    Or you could use Hamachi if your a dope and have Hughesnet like me or if yah don't feel like port forwarding.

    This looks damn nice. Any idea when you will have it ready to release?

    And the big question will you have a public server? ;)

    Making the multiplayer has been harder than I thought it would be, mainly because I had to learn javascript & php for the authentication part of it,
    so I honestly have no idea when I'll be able to release it, keep an eye on this thread if you want to keep up to date.

    I would love to make a public server, but I don't think I'll be able to do something like that, mainly because I don't have a server to run it on.

    It would be relatively cheap to run a small public server being the active community isn't very big. It's been awhile since I've seen server rental prices ( me and some friends where going to do a gmod server but we couldnt get a script together in time) but it shouldn't be to expensive.

    Those are services that have an expensive server running, but they split that 1 server up to for example 8 servers...
    This is how people run minecraft servers for cheap.

    I think we'd need a dedicated server in order to run the server executable. =s
    (correct me im im wrong)

    It very much depends on how much processing power and resources the server requires.

    And also the amount of players that would be able to join.

    Hosting from home is a dangerous thing to do as it opens you up to being DDoS attacked.
